Frequently Asked Questions
How can I sign up for lessons?

You can sign up for lessons on our lesson page and we will connect you with an instructor for your desired instrument in your area. The student and the instructor will then email each other to coordinate times and a location.

How are lessons conducted?

Lessons are made around the student and instructors preferences. We highly encourage in person lessons, as we've found that it greatly helps the learning process, but zoom lessons also work and are common. If you wish to conduct in-person lessons, they can be done in the student or instructors home if comfortable.

Who can sign up for lessons?

Anyone between the ages of 5 to 17 can sign up for lessons, and we will prioritize low income or disenfranchised families.

Why haven’t I received a lesson yet?

Many instructors will be busy in the fall due to marching band, other extracurriculars, and the start of school. We are receiving your lesson requests and we are constantly looking for new instructors. If there is a shortage of instructors, we will put you on a waiting list and notify you when your lesson will start.

How do I become an instructor?

Instructors must be between the ages of 14 to 18. They must have at least 2 years of playing their instrument and demonstrate proficiency in their instrument.
If you'd like to become an instructor, sign up on the volunteer or home page!

How do I get volunteer hours?

We will be keeping track of your volunteer hours and sign off the hours for any service organization. Please email us if you need your hours confirmed.
